چکیده

Abstract Background Primary graft dysfunction (PGD) remains a major obstacle after lung transplantation. Ischemia–reperfusion injury is known contributor to the development of PGD following We developed novel approach assess impact increased pulmonary blood flow in large porcine single-left transplantation model. Materials Twelve left transplants were divided two groups ( n = 6, low- (LF) and high-flow (HF) group). Donor lungs stored for 24 h on ice, followed by In HF group, recipient animals observed 6 reperfusion with partially clamping right artery achieve higher (target 40–60% total cardiac output) transplanted compared LF where was not clamped. Results Survival at 100% both groups. Histological, functional biological assessment did significantly differ between during first reperfusion. also present native showed signs compatible pathophysiological hallmarks ischemia–reperfusion injury. Conclusions Partial animal setting study low versus high ischemia feasible. our study, differential had no effect IRI. A canine experimental study to assess the potential of unilateral double lobar lung transplantation.

OBJECTIVE We recently reported a technique of unilateral double lobar lung transplantation (UDLLT) in a canine model that was associated with satisfactory early pulmonary function. The purpose of the present experimental study was to assess the quality of bronchial healing, complication rates, survival rates and long-term pulmonary function of this new transplantation technique. METHODS Unila...

Flow-controlled expiration: a novel ventilation mode to attenuate experimental porcine lung injury.

BACKGROUND Whereas the effects of various inspiratory ventilatory modifications in lung injury have extensively been studied, those of expiratory ventilatory modifications are less well known. We hypothesized that the newly developed flow-controlled expiration (FLEX) mode provides a means of attenuating experimental lung injury. METHODS Experimental acute respiratory distress syndrome was ind...

the impact of training on second language writing assessment: a case of raters’ biasedness

Pulmonary surfactant synthesis after unilateral lung injury in mice.

Aspiration pneumonitis can lead to alveolar surfactant dysfunction. We employed a murine model of unilateral aspiration to compare surfactant synthesis in the injured (I) and noninjured (NI) contralateral lung. Mice were instilled with hydrochloric acid in the right bronchus and, after 18 h, an intraperitoneal dose of deuterated water was administered as precursor of disaturated phosphatidylcho...
